Daruma — a round doll modeled on the seated figure of Bodhidharma. Weighted at the base, it rolls back upright when knocked over, and it is tied to the saying "fall down seven times, get up eight." Customarily, one eye is painted in first and the other when the wish comes true. Ours has one eye painted, the other left for your wish.
